Abstract

ABSTRACT WIDYANINGSIH. Effect of Population, Education, and Minimum Wages to Unemployment in Banten Province Periode of 2010-2014. Economic Cooperative Education Concentraion, Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, University of Jakarta, 2017 This study aims to examine the effect of Population, Education Level, and Minimum Wage on Unemployment in Banten Province Year 2010-2014. The data used in this research is in the form of time series from 2010-2014 and cross section of 8 districts / cities in Banten Province, with expose facto method. This research use multiple linear regression model by using random effect model. Data on open unemployment, population, education level, and minimum wage are obtained from BPS. Based on the results of partial analysis obtained the number of population have a positive and significant impact on unemployment, education level has a positive but not significant effect on unemployment, and minimum wage has a significant negative effect on unemployment. Based on the results of simultaneous analysis, the population, education level, and minimum wage significantly affect unemployment in Banten Province Year 2010-2014. The variation of influence of the three independent variables can be known based on the R value of 0.613719, so that 61.37% of open unemployment variation is affected by the population, education level and minimum wage while the rest of 38.63% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
