Abstract

ABSTRACT ANTONI CHANDRA KURNIAWAN. " The Effect of Business Capital and Business Volume on Cooperative Surplus (SHU) in Cooperative in Province Bali 2005-2014". Thesis: Faculty of Economics, University of Jakarta. 2016. Supervisor Lecturer: Sri Indah Nikensari, S.E., M.Si. and Dr. Saparudin Mukhtar, S.E, M.Si. This study aims to, firstly find out whether there is a direct effect of business capital towards the acquisition of cooperative surplus, secondly to determine whether there is a direct effect of the business volume towards the acquisition of cooperative surplus in the cooperative, and the last to determine whether there is a direct effect of business capital towards the business volume on cooperative. The data used in this study is panel data that is a combination of time series data and cross section data. The data that is obtained from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia in the form of annual data on cooperatives in the province of Bali consists of 9 districts/cities and taken within a period of 10 years from 2005 to 2014, so that the amount of data are 90 data. The method in this research is ex post facto method and type of research is a quantitative research with path analysis technique. Data processing used is SPSS 20. The result showed that, the business capital (X1) has a direct and significant effect on cooperative surplus (Y) about 0,377. Second, the business volume (X2) has a direct and significant effect on the cooperative surplus (Y) about 0,559. Third, business capital (X1) has a direct and total effect on the business volume and (X2) about 0,851. Thus, bsuiness capital (X1) has an indirect effect on cooperative surplus (Y) about 0,476 were obtained by multiplying the value of the path (0,851 x 0,559), so that the total effect of business capital (X1) to cooperative surplus (Y) about 0,853 obtained from the sum of (0.377 + 0.476). The coefficient of determination (R2) that was obtained about 0,813 has means that the variance of cooperative surplus is affected by the value of business capital and business volume to 81.3%, while its rest is about 18.7% influenced and explained by other variables that do not exist in this research model.
