Abstract

ABSTRACT JANE FURQONI. The Influence Of Wage And Investment To Labor Absorption Of Industrial Sector In Java Island 2005-2012. Faculty Of Economic State University of Jakarta.2015 This study aimed to examine the effect of wages and investment on employment in the industrial sector of the island of Java in 2005-2012. This study uses expo facto method using panel data which combines the data time series and cross section. The data needed to calculate the data is labor working in the industrial sector, wage industry, industrial investment in Java. Data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and Coordination Bureau of Investment. This study uses panel data regression model obtained equation fixed effect results LnTK = 13.73204-0.643137LnW + 0.248174LnI. Based on the analysis simultaneously, wages and investment significantly affect employment of the industrial sector in Java Island on 2005-2012. Based on the analysis of partial results, levels of industry wage significant negative effect on employment. While investing significant positive effect on employment. Variations influence of two independent variables can be determined based on the R2 value of 0.80. Thus, 80% of the variation of employment affected by the wage and investment while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
