Abstract

ABSTRACT FITRI Iswahyuni. The Influence of Investment and Government Expenditure on Employment Opportunity in Yogyakarta Special Region Province. Education of Cooperative Economics, Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2013. This study aims to determine whether investment and government expenditure have an influence on employment opportunity in Yogyakarta Special Region Province. The method that is used in this research is ex post facto method. This research uses quantitative secondary datas. Data is presented each year obtained from the BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik) and BKPM (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal). The result of this research shows that: in simultan investment and government expenditure have significant positive influence on employment opportunity in Yogyakarta Special Region Province. In partial investment has not significant influence and government expenditure has significant influence on employment opportunity in Yogyakarta Special Region Province. With the regression equation Y = 68,170 + 0,000000293X1 + 0,000003982X2 + 0,825iLagY, it has the meaning that if there is an increase in investment by one percent would lead to employment opportunity increased by 0, 000000293 percent, if there is an increase in government expenditure by one percent would lead to employment opportunity increased by 0,000003982 percent, and if there is an increase in employment opportunity last period by one percent would lead to employment opportunity increased by 0,825 percent. R2 value of 0,972 indicate that 97,2 % employment opportunity can be explained by independent variabels (investment, government expenditures and employment opportunity last period).
