Abstract

ABSTRACT Rama Fitriawan, 2014: The Effect of Firm Performance and Corporate Governance on Executive Compensation: Evidence from Firm Listed on The LQ 45 in 2009-2012. Skripsi, Jakarta: Concentration of Financial Management, Study Program of Management, Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of firm performance and corporate governance on executive compensation by using firm size and earning per share as control variable. The research model in this study employs panel data analysis. The samples are 95 firms listed on the LQ 45 in 2009-2012 selected by purposive sampling method. The results show that firm performance measured by ROA, do not have positive and significant effect on executive compensation. while ROE has a significant positive effect on executive compensation, NPM generally have a significant influence on executive compensation and Tobin's Q does not have a significant positive effect on executive compensation. Corporate Governance by using a proxy of institutional ownership (INST) and the proportion of independent directors (IND) does not have a significant positive effect on executive compensation.
