Abstract
This paper proposes to get knowledge about the calculation of cost of delivery service of packages shipping tariffs on PT Pos Indonesia. And to find out how to determine the cost of risk in packages shipping and compare the calculation of cost of delivery service by using or not using the cost of risk. The used method in this research is description analysis by obtaining data through literature studying, observation and interviews. From the research it is known that in calculation of cost of Shipping service to determine freight tariff for customers, there are some substances such as predetermined base tariff, 1% VAT of netto or freight charge, and the cost of risk or the Warranty Rate of Goods Value ((Harga Tanggungan Nilai Barang (HTNB)) which is determined by PT Pos Indonesia and has particular rules for 0,24% of the goods price. By using the cost of risk or predetermined HTNB, the customers can feel the comfort of the shipping packages, especially for fragile goods, through the service of PT Pos Indonesia, although the customers must pay higher compared to not using the cost of risk or HTNB.
