Abstract

ABSTRACT MERI PUTRI SUGIANTO. 8105110267. The Correlation Between Need for Achievement and Academic Procrastination of Students SMAN 38 Jakarta. Script. Jakarta: Departemen Economics and Administration, Study Program of Economics Education, Concentration of Office Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. 2015. This research aims to know whether there is the correlation between Need for Achievement and Academic Procrastination on SMAN 38 Jakarta students. This research was conducted over two months since April to May 2015. Research method used is a method of survey. The population in this research is the whole students of SMAN 38 Jakarta, affordable population in this research is all of students on 11th grade which consists of 252 students, and sample used as many as 146 students by using proportional random sampling technique. An instrument used to obtain the data for variable x (Need for Achievement) and variable y (Academic Procrastination) measured using a questionnaire with Likert’s Scale. Data analysis technique starts finding the regression equation and obtained equation Y = 118,83 – 0,450 X. The result of normality’s test Liliefors produce L hitung = 0,071 and L tabel = 0,073. Hence L hitung (0,071) < L (0,073), it can be concluded that the data result is normal. Hypothesis test by using keberartian regresi yields F hitung = 50,96 and F tabel = 3,86. Since F hitung tabel (50,96) > F (3,86), thus the regression equation is linear. For linear regression test, it produces F = 1,47 and F hitung = 0,63. As F hitung 0,63 < F 1,47, it can be concluded that regression equation is linear. A correlation coefficient product moment test produces r hitung tabel = -0,511. Furthermore, keberartian coefficient correlation test is conducted by using t-test which produces –t hitung -7,14 < -t -1,645. Based on the result of Research, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between Need for Achievement and Academic Procrastination of student SMAN 38 Jakarta. With determination coefficient obtained test results 26,14%, variable Academic Procrastination determined by Need for Achievement, then it can be drawn the conclusion that there is a negative and significant correlation between Need for Achievement and Academic Procrastination.
