Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how non-financial companies in determining the choice between equity and debt. Especially in the security offering choice, firms consistent with pecking order theory or static-tradeoff theory. The data used are non-financial companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) in the period 2008-2012. The results obtained from the test sample are obtained that the observation period in Indonesia using the pecking order theory and the static-tradeoff. However, when seen from the magnitude of the coefficient and level of significance happened can be seen that the trend of the company during the period of observation is the pecking order theory. This is likely to occur due to the economic conditions in Indonesia at the time of observation is a global crisis, so that the economic conditions in Indonesia are not stable.
