Abstract

DEVI ROHMAWATI. The Correlation Between Emotional Intelligence, School Climate, and Academic Achievement in Students at SMK Negeri 9 Jakarta. Skripsi. Jakarta: Study Program of Bussiness Education. Faculty of Economics. State University of Jakarta. 2018. This research was conducted in students at SMK Negeri 9 Jakarta, for six months starting from December 2017 to May 2018. The purpose of this research is to gain the proper knowledge on the relationship between emotional intelligence and school climate with academic achievement in students at SMK Negeri 9 Jakarta. The research method is survey with correlational approach. The population in this study is all students of SMK Negeri 9 Jakarta with affordable population include 171 students of class XI. Used simple random thecnique sampling of 114 respondents. The result of regression equation is Y = 44,130 + 0,131X1 + 0,232X2. The normality test using Kolmogorov Smirnov yields the Asymp value. Sig (2-tailed) 0.200. The value of significance is greater than 0.05 then the data declared normal distribution. From the significance test partial correlation coefficient by using t test and generate t count X1 with Y = 5.992 with significance 0.000. To t arithmetic X2 with Y produces a value of 9,488 with a significance of 0.000. Result of t count X1 with Y and X2 with Y bigger than t table (1.66) and significance value less than 0.05 then variable X1 with Y and X2 with Y have positive and significant correlation. Furthermore, the significance test of regression that produce F arithmetic equal to 105.127 with significance 0.000. The result of F arithmetic is greater than F table (3.08) and significance value less than 0.05, it means that the variables X1 and X2 together are positively and significantly correlated with variable Y. The Product Moment correlation coefficient of Person obtained rxy = 0.809 which means that the correlation coefficient is very high. The coefficient of determination obtained 65.4% which means that 65.4% learning achievement is determined by emotional intelligence and school climate, while the remaining 34.6% is determined by other factors such as discipline and student learning motivation.
