Abstract

KHAIRUNNISA, 8105142690, The Influence of Good Corporate Governance and Firm Size on Company Performance at Banking Sector Company Listed on The Indonesia Stock Exchage in 2016., Scriptis, Jakarta: Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University. 2018 The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of Good Corporate Governance and Firm Size on Company Performance. Research period used the financial report of the banking company in 2016. It used secondary data from Indonesia Stock Exchange and the stock price of the Yahoo Finance website. Analytical techniques in sampling is random sampling and retrieved 36 sample of the company’s banking sector were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The company’s performance as the dependent variabel in this studi with Tobin’s Q while the independent variabel is good corporate governance gained of composite obtained from the result of self assessment Good Corporate Governance of the company and the size of the company acquired from Ln amount of assets. The analytical method used are descriptive statistical analysis, analysis of classical assumption test, and multiple linier regression analysis at 5% significance level. Hypothesis testing is done by using partial regression test (t test) and test of coefficient of determination (R2). T test results showed that Good Corporate Governance rating thitung < ttabel or 1.516 < 2.035 then H0 is accepted so that there is no influence among variables good corporate governance with company performance with significance (0.139 > 0.05) so that it indicates the effect was not significant. Company size t test results retrieved the value of the variable thitung to the size of the company amounting to 2.117 and is positive. This indicates that the value thitung > ttabelatau 2.117 > 2.035, then H0 is rejected so that there is a positive influence among variables size of companies with company performance with significance (0.042 < 0.05) so that it indicates the influence that occurred significant. As for the F-test is obtained Ftabel of 3.285. This means the value of the Fhitung < Ftabel (3.068 < 3,285) then H0 are received so that it can be concluded there was no influence among variables of good corporate governance and corporate performance against the company's size with significance (0.60 > 0.05) so that show the influences that occur is not significant. multiple regression testing that has been done the results obtained Ŷ = 0.058 + 0.937 X 1 + 0, 024X2 ... the value of R Square (R2) amounting to 0.155 this means the influence of the good corporate governance and firm size on performance of companies in the banking sector, companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange (idx) of 0.157 or 15.7%.
