Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of gender diversity on dividend policy moderated by capital structure of non-financial firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2012-2016. Independent variable of this study is gender diversity that contains proportion of women in board of directors and proportion of women in board of commissioners. Dependent variable of this study is dividend policy is proxied by Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR). Moderating variable of this study used capital structure is proxied by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER). This study also used 3 (three) control variables such as board size, firm size, and profitability. The data used in this study is annual report of non-financial firms that published by IDX during 2012-2016. The sampling method of this study is purposive sampling, while the research model in this study employs panel data analysis with Fixed Effect Model approach. The empirical results show that proportion of women in board of directors and proportion of women in board of commissioners have unsignificantly effect on dividend policy. In this study, capital structure indicated unable to moderated the effect of proportion of women in board of directors and proportion of women in board of commissioners on dividend policy. Then, control variables show that board size has positive and significant effect on dividend policy, firm size has unsignificantly effect on dividend policy, whereas profitability has negative and significant effect on dividend policy.
