Abstract

This research aims to test and examine the impact of working capital management on profitability of manucfaturing firms that listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Singapore Exchange during 2009 – 2014. Working capital management component consists of cash conversion cycle (CCC), days of inventory (DOI), days sales outstanding (DSO), days of account payable (DAP), aggressive financing policies (AFP) and the aggressive investment policy (AIP). Return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) used as a proxy for profitability. Further, there are two control variables were used that leverage and sales growth. The sampling method used is purposive sampling, where samples were selected based on certain criteria, the company has complete set of financial statements and have positive profitability during 2009-2014. This research method is quantitative and tested by using multiple regression. The outcome of this research shows that the manufacturing company in Indonesia AFP, DOI and DSO significant effect on ROE while the AIP, CCC, and DAP is not significant. Still on manufacturing companies in Indonesia AIP, DOI, DSO significant effect on ROA, while AFP, CCC and DAP no significant effect on ROA. At a manufacturing company in Singapore AFP, CCC, DOI and DSO significant effect on ROE however AIP and DAP no significant effect on ROE. While AFP and DOI sifnifikan effect on ROA, however AIP, CCC, DAP and DSO no significant effect on ROA.
