Abstract

NUR FAUZI. 8105142655. Effects of Provincial Minimum Wages and Labor on Foreign Investment (FDI) in Jawa Barat Province 1988-2017. Thesis: Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Economics. Jakarta State University, 2019. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the provincial minimum wage and labor on foreign investment (FDI) in the province of West Java in 1988-2017. This research was conducted for 6 months from August 2019 to February 2020. This research is a quantitative study. The data used is sourced from BKPM (Investment Coordinating Board) and BPS (Central Statistics Agency). Analysis of the data used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method using EVIEWS version 9. The results showed that: 1) Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) significantly negative affected Jawa Barat FDI with a probability value of 0 , 0294 smaller than the level of significance (5%) or 0.0294 <0.05. 2) Labor significantly positively affects FDI with a probability value of 0.0085 smaller than the significance level (5%) or 0.0085 <0.05. 3) Simultaneous research results show that the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Labor have a significant effect on FDI in Jawa Barat with a probability value (F-statistic) 0.024 less than the significance level (5%) or 0.024 <0.05 . The determination test shows that around 0.241179 or 24.1% of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Labor variable can explain FDI in Jawa Barat in the period 1988-2017, while the remaining 75.9% is explained by other factors. Keywords: Foreign investment (FDI), UMP, and Labor
