Abstract

RADEN BIMO WAHYU WIBOWO, 8105141466, The Effect of Family Environment and School Environment on Learning Motivation in Students at SMPN 261 North Jakarta. Thesis, Jakarta: Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University, 2020. This research was conducted with the aim to find out there is an influence between the family environment and the school environment on student motivation in SMPN 261 North Jakarta. This research was conducted for 3 months, starting from November 2019 to January 2020. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a survey approach. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMPN 261 North Jakarta, amounting to 190 students and the sample was obtained using a proportional standard of 10%, namely 95 students. The sampling technique in this study is the proportional random sampling technique. Data collection in this study is by using a questionnaire with research variables including: Family Environment (X1), School Environment (X2), and Learning Motivation (Y). Data analysis techniques used include: Normality Test, classic assumption test consisting of Multicollinearity Test and Heterokedacity Test. Multiple regression analysis test. and Test the coefficient of determination. The requirements analysis test is to find the multiple regression equation Y = 6,142 + 0.620 X1 + 0.269 X2. The results of the analysis show: (i) there is a significant positive influence between family environment and learning motivation, (ii) there is a negative relationship and no significant effect between the school environment on learning motivation, (iii) Simultaneously there is positive relationship and significant influence between the family environment and the school environment on learning motivation. The implication of this research is the encouragement of the family environment and creating a comfortable school environment producing good learning motivation for students.
