Abstract
Oktapiani, 2020; The Effect of CEO Ownership and CEO Origin on Performance of non financial Firms Listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the Period 2010-2018. Undergraduate Thesis, Jakarta: S1 Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of CEO ownership and CEO origin on performance of non financial firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2010-2018. Independent variables of this study are CEO ownership and CEO origin. While dependent variable is firm performance. Then control variable in this study are firm size, leverage, dividend policy, liquidity, net working capital, number of board of directors, number of board of commissioners, proportion of independent commissioners and proportion of foreign commissioners. The data used in this study is taken from annual report of non financial sectors published by IDX during 2010-2018. The sampling method of this study is purposive sampling technique with 1976 observations. The research model used is unbalanced panel data analysis with Fixed Effect Model approach and Random Effect Model. The results obtained from this research are CEO ownership and CEO origin have no significant effect on firm performance measured with accounting proxies, namely ROA and ROE. The robustness check shows that CEO ownership has a significant and negative effect on firm performance measured with the market proxy, namely Tobin’s Q, and CEO origin has no significant effect on Tobin’s Q.
