Abstract

PUSPAWANA LESTARI, The Correlation Between Discount With Purchase Decision in Matahari Department Store Arion Mall, to College Student Commerce Education Studies Program. Commerce Education Studies Program, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. This research was conducted in Commerce Education Studies Program, , Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, for five months, starting from February 2016 to June 2016. The purpose of this study is to determine correlation between discount with purchase decision in Matahari Department Store Arion Mall, to College Student Commerce Education Studies Program in State University of Jakarta. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach, population used are all college student commerce education studies program, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. The sampling technique used technique of purposive sampling as many as 58 people. The resulting regression equation is Ŷ = 32,26+ 0,5703X. Test requirements analysis that estimates the error normality test regression of Y on X with test Liliefors produce Lcount =0,1061, while Ltable for n = 58 at 0,05 significant level is 0,1163. Because Lcount < Ltable the estimated error of Y over X normally distribution. Testing Linearity of regression produces Fcount <Ftable is 0,01 < 1,88, so it is concluded that the linear equation regression. Hypothesis testing from the significance regression produces Fcount > Ftable which, 30,50 > 4,01, meaning that the regression equation is significant. Correlation coefficient of Pearson Product moment generating rxy = 0,594, then performed the test significance correlation coefficient using t test and the resulting tcount > ttable, tcount = 5,523 and ttable = 1,68. It can conclude that the correlation coefficient rxy =0,594 is significant. The coefficient of determination obtain for is 35,26% which show that 35,26% of the variant of Purchase Decision is determined by Discount.
