Abstract

ABSTRACT YULI AGUSTINA. The Influnce of Role Conflict and Role Ambiguity to Turnover Intention by Employees Working at PT. Ruslam Cempaka Putih Jaya. Thesis, Jakarta: in Education of Office Administration. Economics and Administration Departement, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2013. This study aims to determine whether there is the influence of role conflict and role ambiguity to turnover intention at PT. Ruslam Cempaka Putih Jaya. The method of research is survey method with correlation approach. The populations research was all employees PT. Ruslam Cempaka Putih Jaya, as many as 62 employees. The sampling technique was done by using random proportional (proportional random sampling). Samples were taken of 51 employees based a 5% eror level. For data role conflict variable (X1), role ambiguity (X2) and turnover intention obtained through questionner-shaped instrument. Before used, that it has construct validity test by validation process, that is correlation test using Alpha Cronbach formula. Reliability X1 variable (role conflict) is 0, 936, reliability X2 (role ambiguity) is 0,924 and the reliabilty Y (turnover intention) is 0,90. Test requirements analysis is performed by finding the regression equation obtained was Y = 9,241 + 0,313 X1 + 0,354 X2 . Based on results of normality test of significance test result are known the value of turnover intention (Y), role conflict (X1 ), role ambiguity (X2 ), and significance of the residuals is 0,200, 0,200, and 0,200 which are all more than the 0,05 H0 accepted then the data means the data are normally distributed. From the results of the t test, thitung of role conflict (4,701) > ttabel (1,67) so H0 is rejected, the conclusion that role conflict has a significant positive effect on turnover intention, thitung of role ambiguity (4,512) >t tabel (1,67) so H0 is rejected, the conclusion that role ambiguity had a significant positive effect on turnover intention. The results of hypothesis testing of two variables, role conflict and role ambiguity to simultaneseously have an influence on turnover intention is viewed from Fhitung (30,307) > Ftabel (3,19). Then thepartial variable role conflict have thitung = 4,701 and has role ambiguity have thitung = 4,512 with ttabel = 1,67 where a separate state significance (thitung > ttabel) means that each independent variable is the role conflict and role ambiguity have a significant positive effect on dependent variable is turnover intention. The results of these studies concluded that there is a positive influence between role conflict and role ambiguity. With a decisive test of the coefficient of determination or results obtained 55,8% turnover intention variable (Y) is determinated by role conflict (X1 ) and role ambiguity (X2).
