Abstract

ABSTRACT RIRI YULIANI. THE INFLUENCE BETWEEN SELF CONCEPT AND STUDY HABBIT TO ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN MATHEMATIC SUBJECT AT SMK MANDALAHAYU.Skripsi, Jakarta: Concentration Education of Office Administration, Program Study of Economics Education, Departement Economic and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, June 2013. This study aims to determine whether there is the influence between self concept and study habit to academic achievement in mathematic subject at SMK Mandalahayu. The study was conducted over three months from April 2013 until June 2013. The research method used is survey method with the causality approach. The population was all class X students of SMK Mandalahayu and affordable population was all class X students of Office Administration which amounts to 203 students. The sample used as many as 127 students by using proportional random sampling. Data variable academic achievement is a secondary data obtained from average daily test value and UAS. While the data variable self concept and study habit obtained by using a questionnaire. Before the instruments used, the construct validity for the variable X1 was tested, the result is from 25 statements of variable X1 that has been validated as many as 20 statements declared valid and the remaining 5 statements drop. After that, reliability testing of Cronbach Alpha formula tested. The results of the reliability of the variable X1 (self concept) is 0,813 while the reliability of the variable X2 (Study Habit) is 0,888. Techniques of data analysis using SPSS 17.0 begins with finding the rest requirements analysis test. Normality test Y (academic achievement) is 0.200 , X1 (self concept) is 0.200, dan X2 (study habit) is 0.200 which are all more than the 0,05 then the data are normally distributed. Linearity test result self concept with academic achievement of 0,000 which is less than the 0,05, it can be concluded the data self concept with academic achievement has a linear relationship. Then the results of linearity test study habit with academic achievement of 0,000 which is less than the 0,05, it can be concluded the data study habit with academic achievement also has a relationship linearly. Structural equation obtained is Y = 0,602 + 0,419 X1 + 0,233 X2 . Test the hypothesis that the F test in ANOVA table produces Fcount (33,918) > Ftable (3,07), this means that self concept and study habit simultaneously affect the academic achievement. T test produce tcount of self concept is (5,376) > Ftable (1,66)and tcount of study habit is(4,541) > t table (1,66), it can be concluded that there is a positive influence on the self concept and study habit with academic achievement. The results of these studies concluded that there is a positive influence between self concept and study habit with academic achievement of mathematic is 35,4%.
