Abstract
ABSTRACT AHMAD FADHIL. The Effects of the Human Development Index (HDI) and Fuel subsidies on Poverty Rate In Indonesia Year 2008 - 2012. Economic Education Cooperative Studies Program, Faculty of Economics, University of Jakarta, 2017. This study aims to determine the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI) and Fuel Subsidies on Poverty rate In Indonesia Year 2008 - 2012 based on data and facts that are valid and reliable. Research in the province ranked 33 in Indonesia. The method used is the random effect model of panel data. The collection of data derived from secondary sources that official agencies of government concerned. The number of observations as much as 165, consists of 33 cross section data and five time series. Data from variable Human Development Index (HDI) (X1) is a form of the ratio of secondary data, Fuel Subsidy (X2) is secondary data in the form of realization of nominal rupiah fuel subsidy and Poverty Level (Y) is a secondary data in the form of percentage of poor people. Data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing consisting of t test and F test. Based on the results of data analysis known there is partial effect between the Human Development Index (HDI) with the Poverty Level. It can be seen from the results of data analysis shown the value t-statistic 13.62, and t-table greater than 1.98. But there is no effect between the Fuel Subsidy and Poverty rate, this can be seen from t-statistic 1.75 is smaller than t-table 1.98. Then based on the F test simultaneously showed that there is no effect between the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Fuel Subsidy on Poverty Rate. It can be seen from the results of data analysis shown that F-statistic 112.55 value greater than F-table by 3.05. There is a negative influence between the Human Development Index (HDI) and the Fuel Subsidy on Poverty Rate, hereafter known coefficient of determination (R2) is 58%. Therefore, in order to reduce the level of poverty, it needs attention on the Human Development Index (HDI) and fuel subsidies. Keywords: Human Development Index (HDI), Fuel Subsidy, Poverty Rate
