Abstract

ABSTRACK LITA RAHMAWATI. Correlation Between Teacher Competencies with Student Motivation AT SMAN 16 West Jakarta (Case Study on Economic Subjects) .2013. This study aims to determine the Correlation Between Teacher Competencies with Student Motivation AT SMAN 16 Jwest Jakarta (Case Study on Economic Subjects) This study was conducted for two months from March 2013 until May 2013. The method used was a survey method with the correlational approach. The population is all students of class XI IS in SMAN 16 by 138. The samples are 34 students. Sampling technique in this study is proportional random technique (Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling Technique). The results of the study obtained linear regression equation obtained sderhana is Y = 42,35 + 0.539 X. Test requirements analysis to test the normality of the estimated regression error above X Y indicates that the estimated error of regression Y on X is normally distributed. This is evidenced by calculations using Liliefors test at significance level of 0.05 indicates that Lhitung (0.106) <Ltabel (0.151). In hypothesis testing, regression coefficient significance test using analysis of variance table (ANOVA) using the F value (19.43)> t table (4.15) which means that the regression coefficient is significant. Linearity test data regression produces Fcount (1.46) <F table (2.77) which shows that the linear regression coefficient. Correlation coefficients were calculated using the formula Product Moment generating rxy = 0.615 is included in the low category. Results of significance test of correlation coefficient using t-test, t produces (4.41)> t table (1,70). Based on the results of these studies concluded that there is a relationship between the competence of teachers with students' motivation. Calculating the coefficient of determination obtained results 0.3778. This means the variation that occurs in students' motivation variable (Y) is determined by the competence of teachers (X). The conclusion from this study is that there is a positive relation between Correlation Between Teacher Competencies with Student Motivation AT SMAN 16 West Jakarta (Case Study on Economic Subjects).
