Abstract
MUHAMMAD FAIZAL SYABAN. The Correlation Between Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) and Student Learning Achievement at SMAN 58 Jakarta. Pre Thesis. Jakarta. Study Program of Economic Education, Concentration in Accounting Education, Department of Economic and Administration, Faculty of Economic, State University of Jakarta, June 2013. This research conducted to describe the correlation between ESQ with learning achievement at SMA Negeri 58 Jakarta. This research uses the quantitative research with an ex post facto data and a correlation approach. The data of learning achievement derived from a middle semester test on second semester, while proportional random sampling is research techniques. The attainable populations are the students of SMAN 58 Jakarta, class XI Social Competence, school year of 2012-2013, consist of two classes with 78 students in total. Based on Isaac and Michael table, sample used in this research are 62 students, with 31 students of each class. Regression equations result is Ŷ = 57,41 + 0,07X. By virtue of that equation, normality test by using liliefors test results, Lo < Lt (0,0804 < 0,1100). It shows that the data had been normally distributed. For linearity regression test, the result is Fh < Ft (1,12 < 2,40), so, it indicated that the data had been linear. While for the regression significant test, the result is Fh > Ft (13,20 > 1,00). It indicated that the data had been significant. The result of correlation coefficient test of product moment by Pearson is r = 0,426, which it means there is a positive correlation between self-concept with learning achievement. The calculation of t-test showed that t account > t xy table , 3,64 < 1,67. It shows there is a significance correlation between ESQ with learning achievement at SMAN 58 Jakarta. The calculation of determination coefficient test results 18,13%, so that the learning achievement effected by the ESQ at the rate of 18,13%. Can be concluded this study shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between ESQ and learning achievement at SMA Negeri 58 Jakarta. ESQ is one of the factors affecting learning achievement deserves to be developed both in terms of truthness, visionary, dicipliness, workship and justiceness so hopefully students can earn a maximum of learning achievement. For researchers are expected to develop this research further by using more samples or by adding another variable that becomes one of the factors that influence learning achievement such as self-concept, worryness in learning and other intellegences.
