Abstract

ABSTRACT Pipit Puspitasari. The Influence of Students’ Participation in the Students Organization on Their Learning Achievement for the Students of Faculty of Economics of the State University of Jakarta. Skripsi, Jakarta: The Concentration of a Cooperative Economic Education, Economics Educational Studies Program, Departement Of Economics And Administration, Faculty Of Economics, The State University of Jakarta, July 2012. This study aims to determine whether there are influences between the students participation in the students organization on their learning achievement for the students of Faculty of Economics of the State University of Jakarta. This study started from mid-May to early July 2012. The method used was survey method with the correlational approach. The study population was all students of the Faculty of Economics who actively participate in the student organizations at the Faculty of Economics, 2012-2013 periods, and the population of this study was the committees of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics, 2012-2013 periods. Samples who are studied as much as 58 students using simple random sampling techniques. The variable Y data is a secondary data taken from the Grade Point of the 096th semester while the variable X data used a questionnaire as the instrument. Before the instrument is used, construct validity tests are conduct through a validation process, which is the calculation of the coefficient of the correlation of point score and total score and the reliability test using Cronbach Alpha formula. The result of the variable X instrument’s reliability (students’ participation) is 0.960. The data analysis technique is started by finding the analysis requirements test that is the normality test and the X and Y value is 0.116, altogether is more than significance 0.05 so the data are distributed normally. The linearity test can be seen at the significance level 0.05. The results of the variable X linearity test (students’ participation) with the variable Y (learning achievement) in 0000 that is less than the significance 0.05, it can be concluded that the variable X with a variable Y has a linear correlation. Then finding for a regression signification test, a good regression models requires non multicollinearity problem. The result is 17.66 it means more than 4.0, because the value of the significance is 0.05 so there won’t be a “heterokedastisitas” on the regression models. The regression equation obtained is Y = 1,11 + 0,025X. Then finding for a correlation’s coefficient test to determine the amount of these two variables’ effect using the coefficient of Pearson Product Moment and it is obtained a value in 0,477 which means there is a positive correlation between the variable X (students’ participation) to the variable Y (learning achievement). The next is a calculation of the significance test using the t-test, known ttable is 4.06 and on the significance level 0.05 tcount is 1.67, and thus, there are found significant influences between the variable X (Students’ Participation) with the variable Y (learning achievement). Then the determination’s coefficient test obtained 22,74%, the variable Y (learning achievement) is determined by the variable X (students’ participation).
