Abstract

The goal of any company is to profit as much as possible, and expects that such profits are growing. Improve employee performance, management should know what are the needs of employees. These things are useful to give an impression to employees that they are considered by the company they work for, and take part in achieving the company's goals. So actually the company's objectives will be consistent with the goals of its employees PT BNI Life Insurance. BNI Life is an insurance company engaged in providing a wide range of insurance products such as life insurance, health, education, Islamic investment and pensions. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of motivation on employee performance, motivation to job satisfaction, motivation on employee performance mediated by job satisfaction, the influence of the working environment on the performance of employees, the working environment on job satisfaction, work environment on employee performance mediated by job satisfaction and the effect of job satisfaction on employee performance. This research was conducted at PT BNI Life Insurance division employee benefit, with a population of 322 people, researchers took 220 people as a sample. This research method using quantitative study using a causal relationship (causal effect) and the type of primary data. Data collection techniques by doing media interviews and observations with the questionnaire. Inferential statistical analysis method using the parametric data type, and for internal analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed the variables of motivation on employee performance and significant positive effect because it has t-value 2.97 = 1.96 t-table. Likewise motivation on job satisfaction has a value of 2.31 t = t-table 1.96, which means motivation positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Motivation to employee performance mediated by job satisfaction also significantly with the value t value -2.32 = 1.96 t-table. However, the work environment on employee performance showed no effect and significant because the value of the t-value 0:00 = t-table 1.96. In the work environment variables on job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact to the value of the t-value of 2.97 = t-table 1.96. Likewise in the work environment on employee performance and job satisfaction as mediating variables have t-value 3:36 = t-table 1.96, which means that the positive job satisfaction mediates the relationship between the work environment on employee performance. Last viewable job satisfaction variables on the performance of employees with t-value -2.73 = 1.96 t-table, so it can be interpreted variable job satisfaction and significant positive effect on employee performance.
