Abstract

CHRISTINA H. Correlation Between School Libraries Facilities With Interest Read Of Students in SMK I DIPONEGORO East Jakarta. This study aims to obtain empirical data and facts are valid and reliable and valid on the relationship between school library facilities with vocational students reading at DIPONEGORO I East Jakarta. The research was conducted at the Vocational School District DIPONEGORO I, East Jakarta for three months, ie from the month of March until May 2012. The method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The study population is a vocational school student I Diponegorori East Jakarta. While the population of inaccessibility is a class X student of Accounting Studies, Computer Network Engineering Program, and Administrative Studies Program as many as 76 people. Technique is the technique of random sampling proportional (proportional random sampling technique) were 63 samples of sampling error of 5%. The instrument used to obtain the data variable X (the school library facilities), scale-shaped instrument used to vary the form of a questionnaire of 27 items of questions to the variable X with range score 52 and for the Y variable (students' interest in reading) used a variety of instrument-shaped form of the questionnaire scales as many as 21 points question for the variable X with range score 43. Before the instrument is used, tested the validity of the content and the results obtained for the variables X Test requirements analysis is the normality test error of estimated regression Y on X to produce L liliefors test count = 0079, while the L table for n = 63 at 0.05 significant level is 0.1116 count Since L <L table then error estimates are normally distributed Y on X . The resulting regression equation is Y = 39.58 + 0.313 X. Testing linearity of regression produces F calculated <F table is -2.19 <1.83, so it was concluded that the linear equation regreasi. Of regression test produces Fhitung> Ftabel, ie 9.90> 3.99, meaning that the regression equation is significant. Correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment generating rxy = 0.374, then the correlation coefficient keberartian tested using t test and the resulting t count = 3.15 and t table = 1.671. It can be concluded that the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.374 is significant. The coefficient of determination obtained by 13.96% which indicates that 13.96% of students reading is determined by the school library facilities. Calculation results concluded there is a positive relationship between school library facilities with vocational students reading at DIPONEGORO I East Jakarta.
