Abstract

DARA ALIFTA DAMAR. 2011. 8335099359. The Influence of Agency Factors, Transaction Cost Factors, and Leverage Policy to Dividend Payout Ratio. Study Program of S1 Accounting. Departement of Accounting. Faculty of Economic. Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This research presents related factors that influence to dividend payout ratio. Based on the criteria used, in this study used 14 companies, which generate 42 data. There are six factors tested in this research, which is used as independent variables, namely: Insider Ownership, Other Firm Ownership, Shareholders Dispersion, Firm Risk, Firm Growth, and Leverage Policy. This research is a replication research conducted by D. Agus Harjito and Ambang Aries Yudanto (2008) with the addition of variable leverage policy. For the overall results of this research, get the same result with this Harjito and Yudanto research although in both these studies use different data. The results showed that the only variable shareholders dispersion that influence to dividend payout ratio and five other variables did not affect the dividend payout ratio. But there is a difference with the results of another research. In general, the difference between these results with previous studies is caused by factors use different data. Both the difference in years, companies that use different data, as well as the amount of data used in research. In addition, the financial crisis in 2008 and 2009, causing the data on the financial statements used to generate research data that is not good so the results of different quantitative tests with the results of previous research that use enterprise data and different years, so it does not fit with the theory there.
