Abstract

MAYA OCTAVIA. The Correlation between achievement motivation with learning achievement at SMK N 50, East Jakarta. Script, Jakarta: Study Program of Commerce Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2012. This study aims to obtain authentic and valid empirical data also facts which can be integrated into reliable information about the correlation between achievement motivation with learning achievement at SMK N 50, East Jakarta. The research taken place at SMK N 50 in East Jakarta for four months ; start from March 2012 to June 2012. The method used was survey method with the correlational approach. The research population was all students of SMK N 50, East Jakarta while the sample was marketing students of class XII, 70 students in total. The technique which used in gathering the sample is simple random sampling about 58 students with an error rate of 5%. The instrument used to obtain data of variable X (Achievement Motivation) and variable Y (Learning Achievement) was 42 questions using Likert scale and secondary data from the half of the academic year rapports of 2011/2012’s. Before the instrument was applied, it must be tested using validity test. From the result of variable X, researcher may use 34 questions and drop out 8 questions. Then it was followed by the Alpha reliability test with the formula Cronbach. The results of the variable X was reliability of 0.884, thus the variable X has high reliability. The sufficient requirements analysis test was the normality of estimated regression percentile Y on X with lilifors test result Lcount = 0.064, while Ltable = 0.116, since Lcount <Ltable the error estimate of Y on X was normally distributed. The regression equation was Y = 51.28 + 0.193 X. Linearity of regression test produces Fcount <Ftable = 0.41 <1.87 so it is concluded that the equation is linear. From significant test, we could conclude that Fcount>Ftable ie 16.07> 4.02, meaning that the regression equation is significant. Correlation coefficient of Product Moment from Pearson produced rxy of 0.427. Then, significant test was performed by using a correlation coefficient of the t-test; it produced tcount = 4.01> Ttable = 1.68. It can be concluded that the correlation was significant. The coefficient determination obtained was 22.27% which shows that 22.27% variation in learning achievement is determined by achievement motivation.
