Abstract

ABSTRACT HASHAMI SYURA BINATARA. The Correlation Between Self Esteem With Academic Achievement on Student Faculty of Economics, Economics Education Study Program On 2012, State University of Jakarta. Research, Jakarta: Concentrations of Office Administration Education. Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2015 This research aims to determine whether there is a correlation between self-esteem with academic achievement in students of the Faculty of Economics Economics Education Studies Program, State University of Jakarta. This research was carried out for two months, starting from November to December 2014. The method used is a survey method with correlational approach.The sampling technique used is proportional random technique with a sample of 149 respondents. The instrument used to obtain the data variable X (self esteem) were measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and Y (academic achievement) obtained through Grade Point Average (GPA). Data analysis techniques in this research starts by looking for a simple regression equation and regression equation Y = 2.63 + 0.191X, while the test requirements analysis is the estimation error normality test regression of Y on X with Liliefors test obtained Lhitung (0.05) <Ltabel (0073), this means that the sample comes from a population of normal distribution. Test of significance and linearity regression using Analysis of Variance table (ANAVA) and regression equation of F (49.52)> F table (3.92) which states mean regression and regression linearity test produces Fcount (1:24) <F table (1:56) which shows that the regression model used is linear. Hypothesis test correlation coefficient relationship between variables X and Y do with the formula of Pearson Product Moment that produce rxy of 0.502, this means that the relationship between the two variables is strong. Significance test with tcount 7.04 and ttable 1.66. Because t count > t table, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem with Academic Achievement students of the Faculty of Economics, Economics Education Studies Program, State University of Jakarta. Test determination coefficient (KD) of 25.20% yield. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between Self Esteem with Academic Achievement.
