Abstract

YOSY KURNIAWATI. The Relationship Between Social Support With Stress In Arranging Thesis At Faculty of Economics State University of Jakarta. The course study of Economics Education, Concentration Accounting Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, in June 2012. This study aims to obtain accurate data and reliable about how far the relationship between social support with stress in arranging thesis at Faculty of Economics State University of Jakarta. The study was conducted over two months from April 2012 until June 2012. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach, whereas the data obtained from instruments that are distributed to Accounting Education college student 2008 as many as 92 people. Samples were taken as many as 72 college student. To get the data of variable X (social support) and the data variable Y (Stress) used a questionnaire-shaped instrument with a 41 point Likert scale statements. Once the construct validity was tested through the validation process which is the calculating the correlation coefficient score points with the total score and reliability testing with Cronbach Alpha formula. The results of the reliability of the variable X (Social Support) is 0.86 while the reliability of the variable Y(Stress) is 0.93. Test requirements analysis is performed by finding the regression equation. The regression equation obtained was Y = 122.90 - 0.27 X. Next is a test for normality of estimated regression error on X by using the liliefors test and earned Lo = 0.0629 compared L tabel at 0.05 significance level at 0.1044 then the Lo < Lt. This means that the error estimate of Y on X is normally distributed. To test the significance regression obtained Fcount (4.23)> F table (3.98) this means that regression is significance . While the linearity test result F count (0.98) <F table (1.76), this means that the model used is linear regression. Product Moment Coefficient Correlation test produces r xy= -0.24. Then followed by coefficients significant test using t test. The results obtained are tcount at -2.053, while the T table on dk = n-2 = 70 and 0.05 significance level is -1.994, meaning tcount> Ttable. In addition, the coefficient of determination test obtained by 5.76% which means that the stress in arranging thesis was set at 5.76% by the presence of social support. Conclusions of this study is that there is a relationship between social support with stress in arranging thesis at Faculty of Economics State University of Jakarta. This means that if the higher the social support given the lower levels of stress in his thesis.
