Abstract

ASTUTI WIDYA NINGSIH. 8105145056. The Influence of Industrial Business Units and Minimum Wages on Labor Absorption in the Small Industry Sector in Indonesia at 2013-2015. Thesis. Jakarta: Study Program of Economic Education, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, August 2018. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence between the number of business units on employment in the industrial sector, the regional minimum wage to the employment of the industrial sector, as well as the number of business units and regional minimum wages for employment in the small-scale industrial sector in Indonesia in 2013- 2015 . This research includes the type of secondary research with quantitative methods and using panel data. The object of research in all provinces in Indonesia, amounting to 33 provinces with the scope of research is 2013-2015 which uses data on the number of small-scale industrial enterprises, regional minimum wages and the number of industrial sector workers according to provinces in Indonesia. Sources data were obtained from the Ministry of Industry and the Central Bureau of Statitics (BPS). Based on the best model selection criteria, a random effect model was chosen. In the classical assumption test, it was concluded that the results of the normality test were normally distributed data. The results of multicollinearity data testing did not occur multicollinearity. While the results of the heteroscedasticity test for the Glejser data method are homoskedasticity. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis t test, the variable number of business units has a positive and significant effect on the employment of the small-scale industrial sector and the regional minimum wage variable has a negative and significant effect on the employment variables of the small-scale industrial sector. In the F test results, the variable number of businesses and regional minimum wages together have a significant influence on the variable absorption of small industrial ape power. Then, on the test results of the coefficient of determination (R2) stated that the variable number of business units and regional minimum wages simultaneously affect the absorption the workforce is 19.17% while the remaining 88.83% is influenced by other factors not examined.
