Abstract

Jenita Fitri Mulani. The Influence of Potential Harm and Social Pressure on Whistleblowing Intention. Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2018. The purpose of this research is to give an empirical evidence that the existence of potential harm and social pressure is positively related to whistleblowing intention. The variables that used in this research are potential harm and social pressure as independent variables, meanwhile whistleblowing intention is dependent variables. The object of this research is civil servant who works at sub-district on East Jakarta City Administration. This research uses primary data by distributing questionnaire to the object of this research. Sample in this research was determined by convinience sampling method, so there are 111 respondents. This research uses multiple regression analysis to test the hypotheses at 5% significance. The data that used in this research were processed with SPSS 22 software. From the analysis performed in this research, the results show, potential harm and social pressure are positively corellated with whistleblowing intention. Based of these findings, this study indicates that DKI Jakarta Provincial Government should socialize the whistleblowing system to DKI Jakarta’s civil servant or the society of DKI Jakarta. That socialization will require the society to play an active role in detecting violations that occur within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
