Abstract

Intellectual Capital in Economic Value Added (EVA) Improvement ASEAN Agriculture Industry Hafid Aulia Rosidi State University of Jakarta Email: hafidaulia@gmail.com ABSTRACT Agriculture sector and consumer good become main topics while increasing of food global demand and limited natural resource competition. Agriculture global market in modern society shown food demand shifting that more complex, wondering food security and increasing quality. These demand changing triggered industrial agriculture ASEAN which located in equator increasing it’s volume quantity, creating differentiation and derivative products from raw material for increasing economic value added. Economic Value Added (EVA) in ASEAN agricultural industry used for research object to measure intellectual capital affect and other suspected variables. This research analized 24 agricultural company which spread in 5 country. 120 observation object had been gathered from financial report of those public company in 2013-2017. Some estimation model conducted but Fixed Effect with Generalized Least Square (GLS) has been chosen due to its ability to explain 76% dependent variable. Empirical research result shown that Economic Value Added is affected by Structural Capital Efficiency and company size. Had been found excessive investment in machine, fabric facilities and land expansion that affect decreasing profitability especially EVA. Big holding company has more access to financial resources hence easily expand and build facilities also has good perspective to attract talented people working. Other intellectual capital variables also affect EVA but not significantly in ASEAN agricultural company.
