Abstract
This research aimed to determine the effect of religiosity, risk preferences, and locus of control toward financial behavior and its effect on personal financial distress on young workers in DKI JAKARTA. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample of 370 young workers in DKI JAKARTA. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire which was distributed directly through an online form (google-form) and was tested by an instrument of validity and profitability. The research method applied a quantitative approach by data analysis technique to test hypotheses using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) PLS technique. The result revealed that: 1) religiosity did not have a significant effect on personal financial distress, (2) there was a positive and significant effect: risk preferences for personal financial distress, religiosity and locus of control on financial behavior, risk preferences for personal financial distress through financial behavior, (3) there was a negative and significant effect: locus of control and financial behavior toward personal financial distress, risk preferences for financial behavior, religiosity and locus of control for personal financial distress through financial behavior.
