Abstract

ABSTRACT LUTFY MAIRIZAL PUTRA. The Influence of National Income and Interest Rate Toward Consumption of Society in Indonesia 2016. This study aims to determine the effect of national income and the interest rate on consumption in Indonesia. This research was conducted using quarterly based on gross domestic product at current prices by expenditure, which is included in household consumption expenditure and national income, as well as interest rate average deposit bank. The data used is the time series data in the form of quarters in the period of 2001 through 2014 with the ex post facto method and multiple linear regression analysis. The research data was obtained from published data BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik) and OJK(Otoritas Jasa Keuangan) as many as 56 of data analysis. Data processing using SPSS 23 software applications and Microsoft Excel 2013. Results of analysis of this study formed the estimated multiple regression equation is LnC = 2,630 + 0,770 LnY + 0,023 LnI + e. Based on estimates of the national income has a positive and significant impact on consumer spending in Indonesia. By contrast, interest rates had no significant effect on consumption and society in Indonesia. At the 95% confidence level value F-stat (1670.237)> F-table (3.17), then the national income and interest rates simultaneously significant effect on consumer spending in Indonesia. Rated R square of 0.985 indicates that 98.5% of private consumption in Indonesia can be explained by the independent variables.
