Abstract

ABSTRACT FAHMI ARDIANSYAH. The Effect of Inflation and Investmet to Income Inequality Distribution in Indonesia. Education of Cooperative Economics, Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2014. This research aimed to determine whether the inflation and investment has an influence to the income inequality distribution in Indonesia. The research used expo facto method, by using panel data which combines time series of the years 20072012 and cross section of 33 province in Indonesia. The data which presented each year obtained from BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics). This research used panel data regression model obtained fixed effect equation results INE = 0,142 – 0,002 INF + 0,008 LnINV. Based on the simultan analysis, the inflation and investment affect significantly to the income inequality in Indonesia. Based on the results of partial analysis, the inflation affect negative significantly to the income inequality distribution, and investment affect positive significantly against the income inequality distribution. Influence variations of two independent variables can be determined based on the R2 value of 0.57. Thus, 57% variation in the level of income inequality was affected by the inflation and investment while remaining were influenced by other factors outside the research model.
