Abstract

ABSTRACT Rina Karsawati, 2012; Influence Turnover of Cash, Receivables and Inventories Against Profitability in the Textile and Garment Company is Registered in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2007-2009. Supervisor: DR. Hamida Msi., Dra. Umi Mardiyati Msi. This study aims to determine whether the cash turnover, accounts receivable turnover and inventories turnover partially or simultaneously impact on profitability in the textile and garment companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study is a kind of causal research with a sample of 46 companies of the textile and garment listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2007-2009. The sample selection is done using convenience sampling method. Methods of data collection by using a pooling technique, produced 57 observations and after outlier test, the total observations are 46 observations. Statistical method used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) cash turnover has no significant effect to profitability, (2) account receivable turnover has no significant effect to profitability, (3) the inventory turnover has a negative relationship and significant effect to profitability. Simultaneously, cash turnover, receivables and inventories had a significant effect on profitability. Adjusted R Square value is 0,189 indicating that 18,9% change in the company's profitability can be explained by the independent variables used in this study. While the remaining 81,1% is explained by other factors which not included in the regression model. Keywords: Cash Turnover, Accounts Receivable Turnover, Inventory Turnover and Profitability
