Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how internal and external condition of the company influences the financial performance of commercial banks, both in Indonesia and Thailand. Then compare, are the financial performance of Indonesian commercial banks different with the financial performance of Thailand commercial banks. Research methodology used is gathering data from company’s annual report and from the central bank of Indonesia and Thailand. Sample was choosen by purposive sampling, where we use commercial banks that have been listing in Indonesian Stock Exchange and Stock Exchange of Thailand from 2010 untill 2014. This research found that there are some same variables that have significant effect to the financial performance of commercial banks in Indonesia and Thailand, they are BOPO, NPL, NIM and stock market capitalization to total asset, whereas CAR and bank size only have a significant effect to the commercial banks in Indonesia.
