Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Board Size, Independent Directors, Audit Committee Size, Board Diversity, Loan to Deposit Ratio, Non Performing Loan Ratio, and Capital Adequacy Ratio toward Return on Equity in the banking companies listing in the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, the Philippine Stock Exchange, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2010 - 2014. Population of this study was the banking companies that have gone public. Sample in this study was companies that have been registered from 2010 to 2014. This study was using purposive sampling method. Data analysis techniques that used were descriptive statistics, Normality Test, Multicollinearity Test, Test Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and hypothesis testing with panel data analysis by using Pooled Least Squares, Fixed Effects Model, and Random Effect Model. Results from this study showed the diversity of outcomes among the four countries, because of the variety of economic and cultural conditions in each country.
