Abstract

ROHANI. Analysis of Factors Affecting Indonesia’s Non-oil and Gas Export to Japan. Department of Economic Education, Faculty of Economic, State University of Jakarta, 2019. This study aims to determine the effect of Japan real GDP, Rupiah real exchange rate, inflation and dummy crisis on Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan in 2003- 2017. This study performs Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) model to determine the dynamic relationships in the short and long term and the significance of the variables studied. In this study, some results were obtained, they are: (1) there is a negative and significant relationship of Japan real GDP on Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports in the long run, while there is no impact in the short term, (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between Rupiah real exchange rate on Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan in the short term and in the long run, Rupiah real exchange rate has a negative and significant impact on Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan, (3) there is a negative and significant relationship of inflation to Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan in the long term, but there is no effect of inflation on Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan in the short term, and (4) with using a dummy crisis, there are differences in the performance of Indonesia nonoil and gas exports to Japan before and after the crisis. Before the crisis, Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Japan showed a positive performance, but Indonesia's nonoil and gas exports to Japan showed a negative performance after the economic crisis. Keyword: Indonesia’s non-oil and gas export to Japan, Japan real GDP, Rupiah real exchange rate, Inflation, dummy crisis, VECM.
