Abstract

ARIEF DHARMA WANGSA. 8105142658. The Effects of Foreign Direct Investment and Domestic Direct Investment on the Absorption of Labor in the Provinces of DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten in 2003-2017. Thesis: Study Program of Cooperative Economic Education, Department of Economics and Administration. Faculty of Economics. State University of Jakarta, 2020. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of foreign direct investment and domestic direct investment on the absorption of labor in the provinces of DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten in 2003-2017. This research is a quantitative study that uses secondary data with panel data types. The data used is sourced from BKPM (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal) and BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik). Analysis of the data used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and with the estimation Fixed Effect Model, this study uses the EVIEWS program version 9. The results of this study indicate that: 1) foreign direct investment is partially influential positive and significant impact on the absorption of labor. 2) Domestic direct investment partially has a positive and significant effect on the absorption of labor. 3) Simultaneous foreign direct investment and domestic direct investment have positive and significant effect on the absorption of labor. The coefficient determination of R2 0.981824 indicates the variance of the independent variable can explain the variance of the dependent variable. While the rest, namely 0.018176, is influenced by other variables. Keywords: Foreign Direct Investment, Domestic Direct Investment, Labor.
