Abstract

ABSTRACT ERIKSON H PURBA. Relation Between Work Overload and Job Stress on PT. Harapan Widyatama Pertiwi. Skripsi, Jakarta : Study Program of Economics Education, Concentration of Office, Administration Education, Department of Economics And Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. 2012. The purpose of this research is to know more about relation between work overload and job stress on PT. Harapan Widyatama Pertiwi. This research has been done during three months from April until Juny. The research method use survey method with correlation approach. The research of population are employers about 541 person, The reached population is 74 person, respondent taken 62 sample according to level of error 5%, which use Proportional Random Sampling. The X variable data (Work Overload) and Y variable data (Job Stress), using Questioner of Likert Scale. Then, it has constructed validity test using validation process, that is correlation coefficient valuing score with the total score and reliability test with Alpha Cronbach formula. Reliability X variable (Work Overload) is 0,887 and Y variable (Job Stress) is 0,920. The analyse test was found regression equation, that is Y = 21,68 + 0,78X. And then, normality data test using Liliefors formula and the result is L = 0,1004 in significant level 0,05 and L table =0,1135, so L count < L table count . It means that the mistake prediction regression Y to X has normal distribution. The result of regression significance test is, F count (45,82) > F (4,00). Shows that the regression is significance. Regression linearity test, F table count (1,02) < F (1,82), showed that regression is linear. After that, the Product Moment result of correlations coefficient test, is rxy = 0,658. Then used correlations coefficient significance t-test. The result of T count = 6,77 while t table = 2,66 and so, t count table > t . It means that the research is significance and positive relation between work overload and job stress. Next, the result of determination coefficient test is 0,4330. It means that variation of job stress variable determination by 43,30% variation of work overload variable. The conclusion, there is a positive relation between work overload with job stress on PT. Harapan Widyatama Pertiwi at North Jakarta.
