Abstract

ABSTRACT SUCI PRATIWI. The Relationship between Social Support with Stress on Student Faculty of Economic State University of Jakarta. Skripsi, Jakarta: Concentration Education of Office Administration, ProgramStudyof Economics Education, Departement Economic and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State Universityof Jakarta, June 2013. This study aims to obtain accurate and reliable data regarding Social Support with Stress on Student Faculty of Economic State University of Jakarta. The study was conducted over two months from April 2013 until June 2013. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The population of this study are all students of the Faculty of Economics with a student population that is affordable Economics Education Studies Program regular and nonregular 2010 which amounted to 225 persons. Samples used as many as 139 people using Proportional random sampling. Data social support and stress obtained by using a questionnaire.Before the instruments used, the construct validity for the variable X and Y was tested, the result is from 34 statements of variable Y that has beenvalidated as many as 25 statements declared valid and the remaining 9 statementsdrop. After that, reliability testing of Cronbach Alpha formula tested. The results of the reliability of the variable Y (Stress) is 0,873 while the reliability of the variable X (Social Support) is 0,745. Test requirements analysis is performed by finding the regression equation. The regression equation obtained is Y = 98,47 – 0,454X. Then, test for normality of estimated regression error on X by using the liliefors test at significant level of 0,05 and earned L count(0,065) < L table (0,075). This means that the error estimated of Y on X is normally distributed. In hypothesis testing, regression coefficient significance testing using analysis of variance table (ANAVA) obtained Fcount(39,51) >Ftable (3,92) this means that regression is significance. From regression linearity test result is Fcount (0,90)<Ftable(1,51), this means that the model is linear. Product Moment Coefficient Correlation test produces rxy = -0,473. Results of significant test of correlation coefficients using t tests. The results obtained T count(-6,29)<Ttable(1,66). The calculation of the coefficient of determination obtained 22,38% and the remaining 77,62% influenced by other factors. The conclusion of this study is there is a negative and significant relationship between social support and stress on Student Faculty of Economic State University of Jakarta.
