Abstract
The purpose of this research is to knowing the effect of compensation and executives’ characteristics (age, tenure, and gender) toward debt policy by using size, profitability and growth opportunity as control variables. The research model that used in this research is panel data analysis (unbalanced panel) with random effect approach. The samples that used in this research are 43 non finance firms that listed on Kompas 100 Index period 2011-2014 selected by purposive sampling. The result of this research shows that compensation, age, tenure have positively significant effect on debt ratio, while gender has positively significant effect on debt ratio.
