Abstract

MEINITA TRI WIJAYANTI: The Correlation Between Work Environmernt With Job Stress for Employees of Perum DAMRI, Jakarta. Studies Program Commerce Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, July 2012. The research was conducted at Perum DAMRI Jakarta, for four months from April 2012 until July 2012. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The population in this study are employees of Perum DAMRI Jakarta totaling 107 employees. The possible populations are employees of human resorce, finance, and internal control unit amount 39 employees. Samples taken as many as 36 employees based on Isaac and Michael table. To capture data from these two variables are used questionnaire Likert scale models for work environment (variable X) and job stress (Variable Y). Before the instrument is used tested the validity for both variables. For variable X, from 34 grains statement after statement validated there are 7 items that drop, while meeting the criteria or a valid statement consists of 27 items. For variable Y, of 34 grains of validated statement after statement contained 6 items that drop, while meeting the criteria or invalid items comprised 28 statements. Reliability calculation of both variables using Cronbach alpha formula. The results of the X variable reliability of 0,861 and the reliability of variable Y at 0,852. These results prove that the instrument is reliable. The resulting regression equation is Ŷ = 1566,23 - 0,688 X. Test requirements analysis of the normality test error of estimated regression of Y on X to produce Lcount liliefors test = 0,1150 ,and the Ltable for n = 36 of 0.05 significant level is 0,1477. Because the Lcount < Ltable then an error estimate of Y on X is normally distributed. Testing linearity of regression produces Fcalculated <Ftable is -1,60 < 2,25, so it was concluded that the linear equation regreasi. From test significance regression produces Fcount > Ftable, which is 14,61 > 4,13, its mean that the regression equation is significant. Correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment generating rxy = 0,548, then performed the test significance correlation coefficient using the t test and the resulting tcount = 3,82 and Ttable = 1,70. It can be result that the correlation coefficient rxy = 0,548 is significant. Coefficient of determination obtained equal to 30%, its mean that 30% variations of work environment is determined by job stress. The results of calculation conclude that there is a negative relationship between work environment with job stress at employeess of perum DAMRI Jakarta.
