Abstract

MARIAM : Correlation Between Word of Mouth and Purchase Decision a Sellular Card of Tri at Student Senior High School of Miftahul Jannah on Pisangan Timur, in East Jakarta. Thesis, Jakarta : Commerce Education Concerntation, Economic Education Study Program, Economic And Adminstration Departement, Economic Faculty, State University of Jakarta, December 2013. The aim of this research is to obtain empirical data & sahih, valid and reliable fact concerning wheter or not there is correlation Word of Mouth and Purchase Decision. This research conducted of Senior High School at Miftahul Jannah. During 4 months counted from September up to December 2013. The research used survey method with approach of correlation. Technique intake of used sample that is simple random sampling, the population were University Sudent senior High School Miftahul Jannah the one who has bought a Sellular Card Tri amount 148 students. From the reached population amount reached the taken as sample amount 84 people, with sampling error 5 %. To get data from two variabels, researcher using likert scale model for Word of Mouth (X) and Purchase Decision (Y). For variable X, from 23 statements which had validated, 22 statements were valid and 1 statements were drop. For variable Y, from 33 statement which had validated, 25 statements were valid and 8 statements were drop. The calculation reliability of both variable were using Alpha Croanbach method and variable X reliability is 0,820 and variable Y reliability is 0,836. This proof that the instrument were valid and reliable. Analysis of condition test, which is normality error test for regression approximates of X on Y with liliefors test, results in Lc = 0.0512 and Lt for n = 84 with significance of 0,05 is 0.09667, because Lc < Lte then normality error test is normal distribution. The equation for linear regression is Ŷ = 33,90 + 0.71X. Significance regression results in F ct > Fta, is 101,39 > 3,96, it’s mean that the regression equation is significant. And linearity regression test yield, in F c < Ft is -2,14< 1,72 that can be interpreted that the regression equation is linear. Results of hypotesis test withPearson’s product moment shows that rxy = 0.744, then significance of product moment correlation is tested with t test which yields t =10,083 and t table = 1.671 . It can be result that product moment correlation rxy =10,083 is significant. Coefficient of determined obtained equal to 55,35 %, its mean that 55,35 % variations of Purchase Decision determined by Word of Mouth. Result of the calculation concludes that there is positive correlation between Word of Mouth and Purchase Decision a Sellular Card of Tri at Student Senior High School of Miftahul Jannah on Pisangan Timur, , in East Jakarta.
