Abstract

TEACHING SKILL PRACTICES (PKM) ON INTERESTS IN TEACHERS IN STUDENTS OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FACULTY OF ECONOMICS IN STATE UNIVERSITY OF JAKARTA By : Wahyu Shanty Septianingsih NIM : 8105153413 Praktik Keterampilan Mengajar (PKM) is one of the teaching practice courses in LPTK which can be equated with practical lectures in other faculties. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence between PKM on the interest in becoming a teacher in education department students who carry out PKM activities in 2018 Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University.Praktik Keterampilan Mengajar (PKM) are basically aimed at forming attitudes, personalities, morals, and professional ethics and characteristics of educators and education personnel to form prospective teachers and educators who have the potential to influence students' interest in becoming teachers. This research is a type of quantitative research with a correlation approach. The population in this study were education department students who were participants in the 2018 PPL / PKM of the Faculty of Economics, UNJ, totaling 225. The samples in this study were 135 students using Simple Random Sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire in the form of Google Form. Data analysis techniques in this study used the normality test and linearity test, and to test the hypothesis using simple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive effect between PKM (X) activities and interest in becoming a teacher (Y) in the education department students of the Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University, which was indicated by a correlation coefficient (R) which was positive at 0.521 and the coefficient of determination (R2) X against Y is 0.272. This shows that the variable X or PKM activity has a contribution to increase the interest in becoming a teacher for students of the education department of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta who participated in PKM in 2018 of 27.2% while 72.8% was determined by other variables not examined.
