Abstract

YULIANTI WARDANI. Correlation between Learning Style and Learning Outcome of English in Grade X Marketing Department at 44 Vocational High School Jakarta. Skripsi, Jakarta: Program Study Of Commerce Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, June 2015. This study aimed to obtain empirical data and facts are valid, valid and reliable about whether there is a relationship between learning styles with learning outcomes. This research was conducted in SMK Negeri 44 Jakarta for 4 months from March to June 2015. The method used was survey method with the correlational approach. The sampling technique used is simple random technique. The population in this study were all students of class X SMK Negeri 44 Jakarta. With affordable populations are students of class X Marketing as many as 61 students. Then based on tables Isaac and Michael, taken a sample of 51 students with a 5% error level. To collect data of variable X used questionnaire Likert scale model for Learning Styles. Before these instruments are used, test the validity beforehand. For the variable X, from 39 point statement after the validation, there are 3-point declaration drop, while meeting the criteria or valid consisted of 36 grains statement. The calculation of the variable X mengguanakn reliability Cronbach alpha formula. Results of the X variable reliability of 0.965 which means that the level of reliability of the instrument would indicate a very high number, while the variable data Y (Learning Outcomes) was taken from the average value of first semester report cards on the class X Marketing. The resulting regression equation is Y = 63.61 + 0,08X. Test requirements analysis that estimates the error normality test Y over X with the test Liliefors produce Lhitung = 0.1019, while Ltable for n = 51 at 0.05 significance level is 0.1240 because Lhitung < Ltable the estimated error of Y on X normal distribution. Regression linearity test produces Fhitung < Ftable 1.14 < 1.96 so it was concluded that the linear equations. Significance test of regression produces Fhitung > Ftable, ie 15.64 > 4.04, meaning that the regression equation significantly. The correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment generating r xy = 0.501 is significant. The coefficient of determination obtained by 25.07% 25.07% which indicates that the learning outcomes are determined by the Learning Styles. Results from this study indicate that there is a positive and significant correlation between Learning Style and Learning Outcome of English In Class X Marketing Department at SMK Negeri 44 Jakarta.
