Abstract

APRIYANTI. The Effect of the Application of Inquiry Learning Model and Learning Interest on the Learning Outcomes of Class X Economic Subjects in Public Senior High Schools in North Jakarta (Experimental Study on Class X Students of SMAN 18 and SMAN 41 for the 2019/2020 Academic Year). Economic Education, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the differences in learning outcomes of students who were taught using inquiry learning models and conventional learning; (2) differences in learning outcomes between students who have high and low interest in learning; (3) the interaction between learning models and interest in learning towards student learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative research with experimental methods. The research was carried out from January to March. The study population included all students of class X SMA Negeri in North Jakarta. Samples were taken using the cluster sampling technique in stages, amounting to 70 students from SMAN 18 and SMAN 41. Data collection tests used in this study were documents, written tests, and questionnaires for students' interest in learning. The research instrument in the form of a written test and a questionnaire on students' interest in learning was tried out to determine the feasibility of the research instrument. The results of the research instrument trial were analyzed by means of validity testing, item analysis test, and reliability testing. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that: (1) there are differences in the learning outcomes of students who are taught using inquiry learning models and conventional learning (F statistical test value of 41.005 with p value of 0.000) at a significance level of 5%. (2) there are differences in the learning outcomes of students who have high and low learning interest (F statistical test value of 41.518 with a p value of 0.000) at the 5% significance level. (3) there is no interaction between the learning model and the interest in learning on student learning outcomes (F statistical test value of 0.668 with p value of 0.417) at the 5% significance level.
