Abstract

ASRI AGUSTIN. The Effect of Learning Interest and Parent’s Attention on Student Learning Outcomes of First Grade at 50 Vocational High School. Thesis, Jakarta. Economic Education Study Program. Faculty of Economic, Jakarta State University. 2020 This study aims to determine the impact of learning interest and parent’s attention on student learning outcomes of first grade at 50 vocational high school. This research was conducted for four months from March to June 2020. The population of this research was 178 students of firs grade at 50 vocational high school, from Accounting, Office Administration, and Marketing major. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling to obtain a sample of 123 students. Data for learning outcome (Y) variable obtained from students midterm score, and data for learning interest (X1) and Parent’s Attention (X2) obtained from questionnaire. Test requirement analysis is done, the data are expressed in normal and linear distribution. The data analysis used multiple regression which resulted in Y = 60,775 – 0,122X1 + 0,239X2. The results showed that: (i) there was negative and significant influence between learning interest on student learning outcomes, (ii) there was a positive and significant influence between parent’s attention on student learning outcomes, (iii) there was a positive and significant influence between learning interest and parent’s attention jointly on student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that learning interest and parent’s attention simultaneously affect student learning outcomes.
