Abstract

ABSTRACT AMBAR YANI. The Effect of Self-Concept and Learning Motivation on Academic Achievement of Student at SMKN 44 Jakarta. Script, Jakarta: Study Program of Economy Education, Faculty of Economy, State University of Jakarta, 2016. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect between self-concept and learning motivation on academic achievement of student at SMKN 44 Jakarta. This research was carried out for three months since February 2016 until May 2016. The method of this research is survey method with causality approach. The population in this research were all the students at SMKN 44 Jakarta with total 588 students. The affordable population were all the 10 th grade students with total 207 students. Sampling techniques used was proportional random sampling. Samples were taken of 131 students based on a 5% error level. Data collecting technique, were used logging documents, interviews and questionnaires. To get data selfconcept (X1) and data intrinsic motivation (X2) by giving questionnaires to respondents, while data results of the study (Y) done by mid test in 2nd semester. Before use, test construct validity through a validation process (X1) and (X2), the calculation of correlation coefficient score points with the total score and reliability testing with alpha formula Cronbrach. Based on the calculation results obtained by 7 items invalid claims for data self-concept (X1) of the 38 point declaration, so that as many as 31 point a statement that is used for research. While the results of calculations for the intrinsic motivation (X2) obtained 6 items invalid statement from 30 the statements, so that as many as 24 point statement that is used for research. Results instrumental variable reliability self-concept and intrinsic motivation of 0,897 and 0,839. Data analysis technique used were the test requirement analysis consists of a normality test and linearity test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test, hypothesis test which consists of t-test and f-test. Based on the results of data analysis can be known that there are partially effect between self-concept with academic achievement. It can be seen from the results of data analysis which shows tcount 6,351 > ttable 1,645. Intrinsic motivation partially effects on academic achievement, it’s seen from the results of the data analysis that shows t count 5,113 > t table 1,645. Self-concept and intrinsic motivation simultaneously effect on academic achievement, it’s seen by data analysis that shows f count 50,067 > f table 3,07. The obtained regretion equation is Y = 32,275 + 0,215X 1 + 0,169X2 . Based on determination of the coefficient test, self-concept (X1 ) and intrinsic motivation (X2) effects on academic achievement (Y) amount 43,9%.
