Abstract

ABSTRACT DWI NOVARIKA PUTRI. The Influence of Emotional Intelligence an Motivation to Work Achievement by employees working at the General Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Thesis, Jakarta: Economics Education Studies Program, Concentration of Education Administrative Office, Departement of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, in July 2012. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and work motivation of employees with work achievement at the Secretariat General of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture. This study commencing from May 2012 to June 2012. The method used is the methodof correlational approach. The population in this study were employees of theSecretariat General of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture, which amounts to 205 people, with a population of inaccessibility is the Planning and Budgeting staff totaling 62 people by using simple random technique (simple random sampling). Techniques of data analysis using SPSS 17.0 begins with finding a test that analyzes test for normality by using the method Kolmogrov Smirnov and test results can be known to signify the value of work achievement (Y), emotional intelligence (X ), work motivation (X )and is 0.200 which all over the 0.05 then the data are normally distributed otherwise. The linearity test can be seen from the results output Test of Linearity at 0.05 significance level. The results of linearity test X 1 2 (emotional intelligence) and Y (work achievement) testing may be known to the linearity of 0.000 which is less than the 0.05 we can conclude the data X (emotional intelligence) and Y (work achievement) has a linear relationship. Then the results of linearity test X (work motivation) and Y (work achievement) can be known to the linearity of 0.000 which is less than the 0.05 we can conclude the data with the performance of work work motivation has a linear relationship. Then look for the classic assumptions test the multicollinearity test. A good regression model requires no multicollinearity. The results are the mean value of 0.910 Tolerance of more than 0.1 and the Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) 1.099, which means less than 10. Thus, it can be concluded that the regression model did not occur multicollinearity. Then look for heteroscedasticity test to test Glesjer. A good regression model requires the absence of heteroscedasticity. the significance of emotional intelligence for 0.109> 0.05 and work motivational significance of 0.650 > 0.05. Because of the significance of more than 0.05 H0 accepted then it means in the regression model did not occur heterokedastisitas. Then test the partial correlation analysis is the analysis of the relationship between two variables to control for other variables are considered to have an influence (held constant). value of the partial correlation between emotional. intelligence with the work achievement of 0.523. The correlation relationship is being classified. And the partial correlation between the work motivation of the work achievement of 0.403. The correlation can also be classified as being a relationship. Then to test the simultaneous analysis of the coefficient, the simultaneous correlation coefficient is used to determine the relationship or the degree of closeness between the independent variables in the regression model, the dependent variable simultaneously (synchronously). R value of 0.668; this means that the relationship between emotional intelligence and work motivation simultaneously (synchronously) with work achievement is 0.668. The correlation can also be classified as a strong correlation. Then do a regression equation obtained was Y = 37.667 + 0.403 X + 0.242 X 2 . Test the hypothesis that the F test in ANOVA tables generating F (20.985) > F table (3.18), this means that X 1 (emotional intelligence) and X motivation) simultaneously affect Y (work achievement). T test produced a tcount of emotional intelligence (4.429) and t count of work motivation (3.178) and t (1.67). Because t count > t it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence with work achievement and work motivation with work achievement. And it can be concluded that there is a positive influence between emotional intelligence and work motivation with work achievement. Then the coefficient of determination of test results obtained for 47.7% work achievement variable (Y) is determined by X table 1 (emotional intelligence) and X (work motivation).
